Still Life, Figures and Landscapes in oil
Mobile Alabama

My favorite way to paint is from life, be it figure or still life. Still life allows me to paint in such a way that satisfies my need to create something unique from the ordinary. I can use my formal training to achieve interest through the elements of design along with my ability to employ realism as a style. It can be very tedious, but rewarding. On the other hand, the figure allows me to be a little freer in my application technique. While oil is my medium of choice, I have been experimenting with acrylic and ink.
I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1988 with a general art degree. At that point, I had a pretty good background in drawing and design, but had never painted, which was something I desperately wanted to do. In 1999, I decide to go back to school. In 2003, I graduated from the University of South Alabama with my degree in painting.
